Oktoberfest, the world’s largest beer festival, is held annually on the grounds of Theresienwiese in the city of Munich, Germany. The festival spans 16-18 days, running from mid/late September till the first weekend of October. The first Oktoberfest was celebrated when Crown Prince Ludwig I married Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen on October 12, 1810. This incidentally led to the venue for the event being called Theresienwiese; even today the locals in Munich refer to Oktoberfest as "die Wiesn" because of its location.

With more than six million people attending the festival annually from all over the world, Oktoberfest fest is undoubtedly one of the most awaited events on the planet!
