The Swiss Open, officially called the J. Safra Sarasin Swiss Open Gstaad after its sponsor, is a clay court tournament played in Gstaad, Switzerland. The Swiss Open traces its history to the 1930s and is today an ATP World Tour 250 event. While the event has been dominated by clay court specialists, previous winners have included all-court virtuoso Roger Federer and his serve-and-volley specialist coach Stefan Edberg. Gstaad’s location in south-western Switzerland, near the border with France, has given the Swiss Open one of the most spectacular backdrops of any professional tennis tournament in the world. The town has something for everyone – scenic outdoors, a thriving shopping scene and numerous fine-dining and nightlife options. Combine your visit to Gstaad this July with some high quality tennis at the Crédit Agricole Suisse Open Gstaad and make the trip even more memorable.
