Meditation & Yoga Sessions – 10th and 11th December 2016

Start your days with tranquil meditation sessions conducted by the Venerable Geshe Dorji Damdul, accomplished Cultural Director, Tibet House followed by a unique sound healing workshop by The Soil – an award winning South African acappella group. Meditation and yoga, timeless practices that have gained popularity in our frenetic times, have the ability to balance the body with the mind and soul. 

 

Morning Music at Jaipur Ghat – 10th and 11th December 2016

After the invigorating meditation and yoga, begin a blissful day with the Morning Music programme, featuring the melodious baul folk singer, musician and storyteller Parbati Baul along with master flautist Shashank and soulful bhajan singers Sukriti and Harpreet.

Heritage & Food Walks – 10th & 11th December 2016

Embrace this historic, colourful and spiritual desert town by walking through its old, winding lanes; savour its rich architectural, culinary and handicrafts heritage. Curated festival walks will include trails to discover the secrets of the old Rangitemple, the rare Brahma temple, the 120 lingams of Gwalior Ghat. Don’t forget to feast on the delectable flavours of the abundant maalpuas, chaat, kachoris and more!

Nagada Workshops on the Ghat – 10th & 11th December 

Try your hand on quaint Indian kettle drums (nagadas) on the ghats assisted by Rajasthan master drummer Nathu Lal Solanki and his team, as a violet dusk gently sweeps across the Aravali range. 

Evening Music at Jaipur Ghat – 10th December 2016

The Sacred Festival begins on the evening of 10th December on an auspicious note with a maha aarti on the ghats ofthe hallowed and sparkling Pushkar Lake, ancient witness to the birth of the town of Pushkar. As the ghats come alive with sonorous chants, the sun sets on a crimson evening sky and you walk through the scented air into a starlit night. The magic of the experience is heightened by the Evening Music programme featuring artistes as vibrant as Shabnam Virmani, Gundecha Bothers and percussionist Pandit Bhawani Shankar.
