Lollapalooza is an annual music festival that takes place every summer in historic Grant Park, Chicago, between the iconic Chicago skyline and the shores of Lake Michigan. The idea of this festival was conceived and created in 1991 by Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell as a farewell tour for his band. From its inception through 1997 and its revival in 2003, it has become one of the most coveted music festivals in the world. The music festival hosts more than 160,000 people over a two or three-day period.
