Overview

The Jaipur Literature festival, now called the Zee Jaipur Literature Festival, often referred to as Asia’s biggest literary festival has been taking place annually since 2006. What began as a segment of the Jaipur Heritage International Festival 2006 has since become a free standing festival that is produced by Sonjoy Roy of Teamwork Productions along with festival director and noted author William Darlymple. The festival is free and celebrates Rajasthani, Indian and International writing. Over the years, the Jaipur Literature Festival has played host to luminaries including Nobel Prize for Literature winners like Orhan Pamuk and J. M. Coetzee, Nobel Prize for Economics winner Amartya Sen, Booker of Booker Prize winner Salman Rushdie, Vikram Seth, Gulzar and Javed Akhtar.

Tips

  • Registration is required for all attendees, under the category of General (free), Delegate (paid) or Press (accredited).
  • Each registration is valid for one person only and is non-transferable.
  • Everyone is required to carry a photo identification of themselves (photocopies will be accepted) and a printed copy of their online registration / the registration code from their online form.
  • Absence of any required documents can result in registration being refused at the registration desk.
  • Depending on the number of people at the venue and its capacity, the festival will at its discretion without prior intimation open or close all registrations for on the spot registrants.
  • Entry to sessions is on a first come basis. There are no reservations.
