The India Film Project (IFP), Asia’s largest content creation festival, is back with its ninth edition this October! IFP provides both amateur and professional filmmakers with an opportunity to be part of the event through its various competitions.

Each challenge at this year’s IFP allows participants to showcase their skills in a different facet of filmmaking to a panel of eminent judges. The competitions at IFP 2019 include:

50- Hour Film Making Challenge

The 50-hour film making challenge is IFP’s flagship contest. Participants have to script, shoot, edit, and submit their film within just 50 hours. Over 32,000 filmmakers from 28 countries participated in India Film Project 2018 and made more than 1,500 short films in 50 hours.

The team size can be from one to 20 people. Teams can choose any one category to participate – Professional, Amateur or Mobile.

Theme:

The theme will be revealed at the beginning of 50 hours on September 27, 8:00 pm

  • Professional: Rs. 3000 / For International Participants – £34.00, $44.00
  • Amateur: Rs. 2500 / For International Participants – £28.00, $37.00
  • Mobile: Rs. 1500 / For International Participants – £17.00, $22.00

Prize for the Winners:

  • Winning films will be theatrically released in PVR Cinemas across Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad and Chandigarh.
  • Winners will get a special one-on-one mentoring session with one jury member.
  • Winners will also take home prizes worth Rs. 10 Lacs.

Script Writing Challenge

The script writing challenge presents contestants with the chance to present their story to the best scriptwriters and directors of the country and get their talent recognized.

Old school Love in the time of Technology

Genres:

Drama, Comedy, and Time Travel

Rs. 1000 / For International Participants – £12.00, $15.00

Prize for the Winners:

  • The top five script synopsis will be narrated at the festival by the writers and win the IFP trophy.
  • Winners will get a special one-on-one mentoring session with one Jury member.
  • The winning scriptwriters get a chance to present their winning scripts to producers at the festival and get them produced.
  • The Winning scriptwriters will also get a chance to be a part of Writing retreats and writing workshops with The Bound Writer’s Retreat and The Light Weaver.

Storytelling Challenge

IFP’s storytelling challenge, presented in conjunction with Kommune, provides a platform to India’s fast-growing community of storytellers and slam poets to perform in front of the best-spoken word artists in the country.

Not-so-Super Hero

Prize for the Winners:

  • The Top 10 participants will get a chance to perform at the festival.
  • The top 3 winning pieces will be uploaded on Kommune‘s YouTube Channel.
  • The Top 10 performed pieces will be re-recorded and uploaded on Storytel app as ‘Lyric Poetry’. 

Poster Design Challenge

The poster design challenge provides contestants with opportunity to redesign a movie poster and compete with the best of designers across the country. The contest will get judged by the acclaimed poster designer – Mr. Raj Khatri.

Contemporary Modern Day poster for Old Films

Film:

Any Film from 1970 – 1999

Registration Fees:

Rs. 500 / For International Participants – £6.00, $8.00

Prize for the Winners:

  • The top 10 poster designers win a Pen – tablet from Wacom.
  • The winning posters will be sold online at Red Wolf and the proceeds of earnings will be given back to winners.
  • The top 30 winning posters will be exhibited and sold at the festival.
  • Along with these, selected winners will get a chance to work with Mr. Raj Khatri the creative head of Marching Ants.
