Tomorrowland (July 21st – 23rd & July 28th – 30th, Boom, Belgium)

‘The time has come again to entertain children of all ages,’ begins the trailer to Tommorowland and their theme for 2017, Amicorum Spectaculum. Don’t be fooled by the jazz and Middle Eastern rhythms, this is pure EDM at this most spectacular. Stretched over two weekends – July 21st – 23rd & July 28th – 30th, the lineup is insane and features everyone you’d ever want to see. Name the DJ; they’re here. From Guetta, to Alesso, from Armen Van Buuren to KSHMR, from the legend Carl Cox to the legend Paul Van Dyke. Old and new, they make their annual pilgrimage to Boom in Belgium to entertain the masses that fly in from everywhere to pay homage to the gods of EDM across 16 stages. Lollapalooza (August 3rd– 6th, Chicago, USA):

If EDM is not your thang and you’re keen on lyrics and perhaps the sight of a real instrument on stage, head to one of our favorite festivals, Lollapalooza, in Chicago. Over 25 years old, this is one of the world’s premier stages to see alternative, indie, rock and hip-hop. This year’s headliners include Chance the Rapper, The Killers, Muse and the brilliant arena band, Arcade Fire. You have Lorde and Tove Lo repping the pop brigade, Tegan and Sara from singer songwriter indie, Wiz Kalifa and more.

US Open (August 28th – September 10th, New York, USA):

If Wimbledon is the tournament royalé of tennis then US Open is its brash bad boy. Out go the all whites and the courtesies in front of the royal box; in come electric colors and in your face aggression fanned by the passionate audience in the largest tennis venue in the world- the Arthur Ashe Stadium in the Billie Jean King Tennis Center.

2017 has already turned into a historic year for tennis. Australian Open saw Federer claim major number 18 while Serena Williams won her 23rd singles grandslam title, and now Nadal has his La Decima at Roland Garros. Combine this with the rise of the young brigade from Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev in the men’s game to Jeļena Ostapenko, the 20-year-old women’s champion in Paris, and we can see an exciting denouement to the season happening in New York.

Need more convincing? It is Fall in New York. Enough said.

Formula One Italian Grand Prix (1st September -3rd September, Monza, Italy):

Monza is everyone’s favorite track. Set in the lush landscape of Italian parkland Royal Villa of Monza, which was built between 1777 and 1780, it’s the fastest circuit in the world and the winner of the Italian Grand Prix has a 75 percent probability of winning the championship. It’s home to the Tifosi, Ferrari’s fanatic supporters and you can be sure of an electric atmosphere but more than anything, it’s the history. Italian car racing has been around well before Formula One began in 1950. Then there are the Chicanes, everyone’s favorite game changer.
