Next in our list of Belgian rock music festivals that you should attend is the biggest one of them all, Rock Werchter.
27th to 30th June 2019
Rock Werchter X belevingscentrum, Werchter, Belgium
Rock Werchter is one of the biggest music festivals in the world and should definitely have a (high) place on your festival bucket-list! The event traces its history to 1976, when it started as the “Torhout-Werchter” festival, becoming a two-day festival in 1996, a 3-day festival in 2000, and a 4-day festival named “Rock Werchter” since 2003. Today, this multi-award-winning fixture attracts nearly 90,000 fans daily, with most attendees coming on all four days.
Rock Werchter 2019 will have some of the biggest names in music including Pink, Tool, Mumford & Sons, Muse, Bastille, The Cure, Florence + The Machine, Greta Van Fleet, and Macklemore. Other prominent performers at the event include New Order, Elbow, Bring Me The Horizon, Robyn, Richard Ashcroft, Beirut, Weezer, Two Door Cinema Club, and Years & Years.
Rock Werchter takes place at the Werchter Festivalpark in Werchter, Belgium. It’s just half an hour away from Brussels, and two hours via the Eurostar from London St. Pancras. From the Leuven railway station there is a shuttle bus service running to and from the festival site. You can pitch your own tent at the regular camping site, or book a spot at The Hive Resort. There you’ll find a ready-pitched tent – or a tee-pee or a lodge if that’s more your thing – waiting for you along with all the other amazing facilities. If art’s not your thing then there’s plenty more to do on the site, with yoga sessions, dance clubs, and some of the best beer Belgium has to offer.
Tickets for Rock Werchter 2019 are now available via Ticketmaster starting at €243 (+fees) camping and hotel packages are also available. One-day tickets for Thursday, Saturday and Sunday are still on sale, along with combi tickets. Day tickets for Friday are now sold out.
