In our last post on the best Belgian rock music festivals, we look at the immensely popular Pukkelpop.
15th to 18th August 2019
Kempische Steenweg 311, Hasselt, Belgium
The Pukkelpop Festival started 34 years back as a small, local music event before rising to become an outdoor festival that is now considered one of Europe’s greatest music fixtures. Pukkelpop is a complete experience, and has been promoting community relationships since its very inception. It is the second largest music festival in Belgium after Rock Werchter, with an annual attendance of around 180,000 people. Around 200 artists will perform on the ten stages of the Belgian festival.
Pukkelpop 2019 has attracted some of the popular music performers in the world. Headliners include rock virtuosos like Tame Impala, Prophets of Rage, The National, and Royal Blood, hip-hop maven Post Malone and the always-brilliant Indie act, Twenty One Pilots. Other big names to watch out for are Franz Ferdinand, Billie Eilish, James Blake, Bullet for My Valentine, Mike D, and Good Charlotte. Looking for some mood change? There’s Martin Solveig’s EDM, Stormzy’s grime and so much more!
Festival visitors can reach Pukkelpop via the E313 or E314 motorway or use public transport to Hasselt or Kiewit. Hasselt is about 20 Km away from Diest, 60 Km away from Eindhoven, 30 Km away from Maastricht, 50 Km away from Liège, 70 Km away from Antwerp and 70 Km away from Brussels. Pukkelpop has two big campsites, named Chill and Relax. Chill is located opposite the festival site, while Relax is a one-hour walk away. Shuttle buses will take you from Relax to the festival. Both campsites are included in your combi ticket, while day ticket holders can stay at Relax.
Weekend tickets are on sale now for EUR 205. You can purchase festival tickets as well as food and drinks vouchers or one of several camping or hotel formats.
