Greater London, United Kingdom

Walking through the most ancient part of London, you'll discover the remains of historic churches, gorgeous old pubs, and Tudor architecture.

These quiet streets have witnessed some of the most extraordinary and bloody moments in British history, from the Blitz, the Great Fire, Plague and Executions.

See the memorials to Protestant Martyrs burnt alive by Bloody Mary Tudor; find out how William Wallace met his end, and locate London's most significant Black Death cemetery.

But its not all blood and guts, as we will pass through the most gorgeous Tudor gateway in the City, explore alleyways barely touched in 400 years and see the church used in Four Weddings and a Funeral.

You'll be taken within the shell of a church destroyed in the Blitz, and be led into the park which displays the most touching memorial to self sacrifice you could possibly imagine.

The walk lasts 1.5 hours and will leave a lasting impression of a different side to London's extraordinary history.

A very informative guided walk from Matt, the walk whilst not far revealed some really interesting pieces of history. Matt was very friendly and welcoming and kept the group engaged and entertained too! Well worth the time and money. Thanks.

This was a fascinating and entertaining walking tour. Despite miserable weather, our guide Jess kept us entertained and informed with some wonderful insights into some little known aspects of London history. He highlighted some amazing spots which we would never have noticed and revealed the rich and remarkable history of the area.

Really enjoyed this tour, we joined it on a Saturday morning when the City was fairly deserted. Matt's delivery is great, excellent knowledge and good humoured, would highly recommend.

Short tour but we covered a lot and it was full of fascinating insight. Jess our guide kept us moving without any pressure but long enough at each point to give us insights into each location. As well as what he spoke about he also brought relevant photos etc on his tablet which added more understanding of time and space. Excellent value and very enjoyable.

Excellent tour, history with humour. Not a great distance walked because the points were well chosen to be in a small area. Well worth the time and the money.

I booked this tour & changing the guard tour after doing the hidden London tour by this company when I visited London in May. Had Rosie and Matt as guides and they were both very knowledgeable and entertaining, the tours passed really quickly with lots of interesting little facts and really cool things to see that aren’t commonly known or advertised. Will definitely look at their other tours the next time I’m in London.

Really interesting, with a great and very well informed guide. Matt's genuine enthusiasm shines through. It would be great to go back and do other tours another time. We were with adults but this is not too long in duration and has a bit of gore in it which would probably appeal to kids too.

Very informative! Saw the Plague Pit at The Old Charterhouse; St. Bart's Yard (I wish he had taken us into the Church); The Postman's Park; The old bombed out church of St. Dunstan in the East which has been turned into a lovely garden; Smithfield where the executions were held; and the site of Old Newgate Prison. All in all, it was a great tour.

Matt is an excellent guide and we really enjoyed the tour. We found out a lot of interesting information we would never have known and visited several fascinating sites. The Guildhall Art Gallery with the Roman amphitheatre inside was a great place to end the tour and gave us a gallery to visit which we did not know was there. We will definitely do another tour with Matt as it was so enjoyable and great value for money too, wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
