Stop At: Tower of London, London EC3N 4AB England

Your tour will begin just in front of the main entrance, where you will be given a short introduction to the history of the Tower of London before being led in to meet the Beefeater dedicated to your small group. From stories of traitorous plots to tales of royal scandal, the guards of the Tower of London will bring this attraction to life before your eyes. Your small group will also enable you plenty of chances to ask questions and interact directly with the Beefeater as they lead you through this ancient fortress.

After your tour, continue to discover the Tower at your leisure including a visit to the infamous Bloody Tower, a tour of the old Royal Mint, or a visit to the home of the stunning Crown Jewels. Because of our early morning start time, you will be among the first visitors into the Tower and will have the opportunity to explore without the usual large crowds.

At times an important stronghold, a magnificent palace, and an intimidating prison; the Tower of London is a must-see attraction for those interested in British history. Don’t miss out on the opportunity for a guided tour with those most familiar with it – the Beefeaters.

Our family of 6 booked the private guided tour of London Tower and we were lucky enough to get Danny as our guide. She was AMAZING! She knew the best way to hit all the parts of the Tower to maximize our time. She was super knowledgeable and also super funny. She got great photo opps for us, tailored her insights to what we were most interested in and was a lot of fun to spend time with. The private guided tour was worth the splurge. We got to skip the line at the main entrance and she knew how to guide us around most efficiently - saving us time. I don't know if you can request a guide, but if you do - ask for Danny and if not, I hope you get lucky!

Not exactly sure what I paid for as the experience was not as advertised. Through no fault of the City of Wonder tour guide, we were late departing as there was an issue with the reservations of two other people. Finally, she took the rest of us down to the entrance (15 minutes before opening) and was having a difficult time getting the staff to recognize our tour reservation (again, not her fault. The ToL staff just seemed completely uninterested in helping her and kept putting her off). As a result, we were left standing at the entrance while people with general admission tickets were being let into the Tower. When we finally got access to a Beefeater, he spent a grand total of about 10-15 minutes with us and then sent us off on our own. No guided tour. Again, not sure what we paid extra for as it would have been faster and cheaper to just get regular tickets and come in ourselves. Also, to be clear, the City of Wonder representative was lovely and doing her best, but seemed to be left out to dry by her company.

Beware CITY WONDERS Tower of London Tour &Private Audience with Beefeater! This is NOT a guided tour. You get to skip the line. Once inside the gate a Beefeater greets you, talks about the ravens in cages. Then … you’re on your own. The “guide” disappears. No information is given about headphone rental, which direction the Crown Jewels are in (Beefeater is kind enough to share this with us). Also, be sure to confirm your tour. Several parties arrived to find their reservation had been canceled by CITY WONDERS. DEFINITELY book an early morning tour. We met at 8:30 and got right in to see the Crown Jewels. There was a 3 hour wait at 11am.

Pointless. Waste of money, didn’t get early access as our guide’s ticket wasn’t working and hundreds of people went in before us.

Tour guide did not show up until 8:50 so we did not get “ early” access Beefeater was great and really enjoyed that part of the tour. Went to Crown jewels by 9:30 and we got in quickly. Do not go much later to see The Crown Jewels or you will wait in the hot sun or rain. Very interesting and liked that we got to explore on our own after we were given background history from Beefeater.

Michael was awesome with his very knowledgeable witty pre beefeater tour. Very well organised and his knowledge of London was second to none. We had an amazing beefeater for our tour. Later on in our experience at the tower we had a specific question which other beefeater were more than happy to share their knowledge with us. Absolute bang on day.

If i could give this zero stars, it would still be too much. Nothing against our guide or beefeater, who were doing the best with what they were given i suspect. We paid about 3x what we would have for a standard family pass to visit Tower of London. We were told there would be early access (there wasn't) and a tour (there wasn't) and an audience with a beefeater (there was for about 15 minutes, then he went off to lead the free tours they give all day long - which we could join if we were so inclined). This was, hands down, the largest waste of money we have ever experienced in a family excursion. We had limited time in London and had hoped that early access would mean skipping the masses - it didn't. We didn't have to stand in line but we didn't go in any earlier than anyone else. I could have gotten there at the same time and been ahead of the game without this booking. We have done many tours and tipped gratefully at the end on top of being happy to have paid the going price, and I believe this isn't a matter of us being overly 'picky'. I will be requesting a reimbursement for the misleading and disappointing experience.

This is the only way you should do a tour of the Tower of London. You go in early before it gets to crowded. The Beefeater we had was extremely fun, entertaining and knowledgeable. He gave us so many facts and he was willing to answer all of our questions. Never felt rushed. Worth the cost of the Private Tour.

The city wonder guide was late and did not communicate with anyone in the group. She said nothing but to walk us to the entrance and then walk away. 30 min late. I tried to communicate with Viator and they completely ignored me. Everyone in the group was upset. The actual Beefeater was great and made up for the awful treatment by CityWonder.

When we booked the Tower of London, we weren’t quite sure what we were getting into. Dave, the representative from City Wonders went above and beyond his job. His role was to father us and deliver us to the Beefeater. But he gave us great tips for visiting London, history lessons and stories. Our Beefeater was great and friendly. Although he was only given 20 minutes with us. I guess I assumed it would be a full tour of the grounds, but he just pointed out some highlights. It was still great and interesting, just not quite what I had expected.
