Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Osborne House, York Ave, East Cowes PO32 6JX England

Your driver and guide will personally meet you at your accommodation in London and then make the journey down to the South Coast of England. (Approx 2 hours)

You will board the passenger Ferry and cross the Solent, arriving in East Cowes on the Isle of Wight. A five minute drive and you will be at the gates of Osborne House.

"It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot" said Queen Victoria of Osborne House. This was the Queens favourite holiday home, and the views across the grounds reminded Prince Albert of the Bay of Naples. After Albert's death Queen Victoria spent much of her life on the Isle Of Wight.

Osborne reflects Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's passions, tastes and style. Ornate furnishings and artifacts from The Royal Collection fill rooms and corridors where Victoria entertained heads of state, inventors, Princess and Princesses and ruled the vast British Empire.

The Gardens and grounds are complete with play houses for the Royal Children and a private bathing beach.

Peek into the private world of Victoria and Albert and their nine children, in the nursery and family rooms at Osborne. Visit the queen's sitting room and see the balcony where Victoria and Albert used to listen to nightingales on a summer's evening.

Prince Albert's private suite was kept as it was in his lifetime, by Queen Victoria, and many of the things he used at Osborne still lie where he left them. See the queen's personal bath tub in the dressing room,  and, next door, the bedroom where she died, on 22 January 1901.

As you walk through the grand corridors, image the famous men and women who paced the same corridors in years gone by.

You will have plenty of time to visit the onsite Cafe's and Gift Shops.  If time permits, we can take a drive through the countryside on the Isle Of Wight, giving you a taste of what this beautiful Island has to offer.

This is a private and bespoke tour with no strict schedules. We go at your pace. Returning to London early evening.

This tour also includes the option of an overnight stay if you want to have a little more time on the Island. (Accommodation booked at your expense) returning to London the following evening. See Tour Options.

My boyfriend and I spent 8 days in England and did a number of tours between London, the Cotswolds, Bath, and Oxford. As a Victorian history buff, I wanted Osborne House to be a can’t-miss part of our trip. The travel agent booked this tour with Richard and we weren’t sure what to expect. It turns out he was fantastic, personable, incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. He was only as involved as we wanted him to be, and the interaction was never awkward or intrusive. My boyfriend took the opportunity (and the incredible setting) to propose to me while on this tour and Richard was happy to help him set me up and steal a pic of the moment. Apparently we were the first to have ever gotten engaged during one of his tours and will no doubt not be the last. When we return to the UK, Richard will absolutely be our first choice for anything and everything we want to see that’s in his offerings. We can’t recommend him highly enough!

We booked the Overnight option from London and highly recommend two days on the Isle of Wight! Richard was our terrific tour guide, prompt, extremely knowledgeable, easy to work with. He was able to incorporate things that we wanted to do on the Isle of Wight with sights he knew we should see! Gave us a great recommendation for dinner in town and even booked us a 'royal' lunch at the Royal Hotel. His knowledge of the Isle and especially of the Osbourne House was just amazing! We were going on to many other tours in England but very sad that we couldn't have Richard continue as our guide! Oh and forgot to mention Richard's extensive 'Beatle' knowledge! We went to the Isle of Wight because one of us was turning 64, remember 'When I'm 64'? Can't wait to book Richard for another tour!

We had an excellent day visiting. Volunteer staff were excellent and helpful. The staff were lovely at the cafes etc and were equally good. The only down side was the paid mini bus driver who was a unsocial and ignorant man.

Great place to visit and see how royalty relaxed back in Victorian times. Some wonderful painting and photographs of Victoria and Albert and their large family. Very interesting for any history buffs.

Richard is a fantastic guide. He was very informative, full of historical knowledge, cheerful, obviously enjoys his role and takes his time to make the trip a very enjoyable experience for his clients. He picked us up from our London hotel on time and the trip timetable was perfectly adhered to. We had plenty of time to fully appreciate the stories behind Osborne House and the beautiful gardens. It was a wonderful experience to see the planning that went into the construction of the buildings and gardens. You could see the love between Victoria and Albert woven into the fabric of everything we saw. Their initials entwined on everything, the happy family photos and the carefully selected sculptures and paintings, gifts to each other. Great day, thank you Richard!

Richard provided a great trip to the Isle of Wight for my husband and I. We didn't want to visit Osborne House, rather we wanted to see The Needles. Richard was born and raised on the Isle of Wight and was able to provide detailed information about the entire Island. Despite some extremely strong winds at The Needles and a few short bursts of rain, our trip to the Isle was wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better driver and tour guide. Would recommend Richard to everyone.
