On this 2 hour Jack the Ripper Tour, you will get to explore how an Autumn of Terror in 1888 can still send a shiver down your spine to this very day.

The discovery of a body on 31 August 1888 in London’s East End set in motion one of the most famous manhunts in criminal history. For over 120 years, Ripperologists and amateur sleuths have been trying (and failing) to discover the identity of the man known as Jack the Ripper!

Throughout the Jack the Ripper Tour, you will explore the historical background of the Whitechapel murders and their passing into a genre almost in their own right. We will examine how public perception of these gruesome but gripping murders has been shaped and compare that to the reality of 1888.

We were with Alan (7:30 Tour last night ), who did an amazing job at providing details and insight on these murders. Definitely do this … takes you back in time and to a place in London that was once the ghetto (it’s been gentrified forever the most part). A must!

As someone who lives on the Essex/east London borders (and whose parents have ties to the East End), I’ve long been fascinated by this case, but never considered joining one of these tours - until now. Last night, two friends and I were part of the tour group, and what a fantastic couple of hours it was. Standing close to where the horrific crimes took place sent a chill down our spines, and Angie - our excellent tour guide - transported us back over 100 years, with her extensive knowledge and pack of gruesome photographs. She said she’s been interested in the case since she was nine, and I don’t doubt it. Her insight and enthusiasm was positively pouring out of her. And coupled with a bit of humour - where appropriate - she made it a thoroughly enjoyable (if you can use that word for something like this?) experience. There’s also an Ebook you can download afterwards. Would highly recommend.

The tour guide, Jeremy, had so much energy and was genuinely enthusiastic about Jack (perhaps Jill?) the Ripper. The tour size was perfect and not overly crowded like some of the other tours we saw passing by. An intimate tour through the streets and cool stories about each stop along the way. Bonus that Jeremy dropped some local knowledge and sent us to one of our favorite dining spots of the whole trip. Mumbai Square Indian cuisine. I digress. Go on this tour, you'll be glad you did.

The best tour I´ve ever had. Jeremy was excellent and the two hours were way too short. I´d go on a tour with him anytime again.

This was an amazing tour and Lindsey was a great tour guide, showing us the site and the interesting facts about Jack the Ripper. There were about 30 people and although it would have been nicer had it been smaller, she had us squeeze in closer to hear about the stories. A fun tour when visiting London, highly recommend!

Angie our guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and really got over the events of 1888. I would imagine in the dark it would have been even more memorable.
