The tour will drive through beautiful villages until arriving at Burford, the elegant market town known as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds'. Here you will take a guided walk to the 900 year old church of St John the Baptist and see unique woolsack tombs and historic memorials.

After some free time you will depart and drive over to Bibury "the prettiest village in England" according to the art critic and writer William Morris. You can walk along the picturesque Arlington Row, one of the most photographed group of cottages in the country dating back to the 17th century, alongside clear trout filled streams and the village green. A single track country lane will take you up further up the Coln Valley and onto the 2,000 year old Roman Fosse Way.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Bourton on the Water, Windrush river, Bourton-on-the-Water England

Along this delightful secluded valley the tour will make a stop at the ancient stone church at Coln St Dennis, then onwards to Bourton-on-the-Water, the 'Little Venice of the Cotswolds' with its stream running through the center of the village and a series of stone bridges.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Stow-on-the-Wold Market Square, Stow-on-the-Wold England

Picture postcard houses nestle either side of the River Windrush as the tour follows the narrow lanes up to Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds. This attractive market town was the center of the wool trade in the area when up to 20,000 sheep would be bought and sold at the annual fairs! It is the highest of the Cotswolds towns standing on the 800 feet high Stow Hill.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Blenheim Palace, Woodstock OX20 1PP England

You will then continue the guided tour down to Woodstock and the magnificent Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. This stately home was designed by Sir John Vanbrugh and built between 1704 and 1722 for Sir John Churchill as a reward for defeating the French in the Wars of Spanish Succession. Beautiful landscaped grounds designed by Lancelot Capability Brown surround the Palace. Explore the opulent interior, see the room where Sir Winston Churchill was born and marvel at the great dinning hall and library. A wonderful way to end the day before our return to London.

This was an outstanding day! Our guide Mike was fantastic and he had so much knowledge to share with us and he made sure we all had our questions addressed. My wife and I felt very comfortable on the trip and Mike’s info sharing prepared us to better enjoy the sites. The drive through the English countryside was beautiful and is what we imagined it looked like. The day started out promptly at 730am at our meeting location which was easy to get to. The tour van was comfortable and was not over crowded at all. The entire group consisted of 10 guests and we all had room on the tour van. We drove to Oxford to pick up another traveler and to stretch out legs (about 75 min drive). We then headed to the Cotswolds and stopped at a a few villages to look around for a few moments. We then arrived to our main town for lunch. The lunch was basic (chicken for me and my wife is Gluten free so they prepared her a separate dish). We had plenty of time to walk around the town - make sure you go to the church in town as it is quite impressive and from the 12th century. We also grabbed a Pint at a small pub near the pick up point while we waited. We then headed off to the Palace. It was impressive! Tip - bring your IPhone and headphones as the audio tour is only available via an app you download (unlike most of the venues in London that provide an audio guide) - I left my earphones in my bag in the van…. We felt we had plenty of time at all of the venues. On our drive back, our guide, Mike asked us all what topics we wanted to hear about on the way back - it was impressive his depth/breadth of knowledge (or at least his confidence in delivering it! :))…. Vugar was our driver and he was a kind man and his driving was superb. At no time did we feel unsafe. We appreciated his smooth driving and ability to get us as close as possible to our drop off/pick up points. Overall, I highly recommend this for a great day outside of the crowds of London.

I wish I could rate this ten stars! Tour guide Mike and bus driver Assiz sp? Provided a stellar day for us. Every detail and service was met beyond expectations. Assiz was so kind and pleasant and drove so perfectly in some narrow roads. So professional and helpful at every point. Tour guide Mike was spectacular. We could listen to him and his knowledge and funny stories all day. I don’t know how the day could have been better. Highly reccomend this tour and thus team. Stellar in all counts!!

We had a very relaxing day in the Coltswolds! Jose our guide was great! Unfortunately Blenheim Palace was closed during our visit because someone stole a solid gold toilet! Go figure! But we made the best of it anyway!

At nearly $200 USD per person, this was not a cheap day out. Our tour guide met us on time at the Hard Rock Hotel but the minibus was 20 mins late. Once underway, we drove to Oxford without too much fuss to pick up another two passengers then into the Cotswolds with 10 people plus the driver and guide. Our first stop was in a small valley where the Swan Inn is located. The sun was out and the small street with the inn and some thatched roof cottages were really beautiful. We had 15 mins here. We then drove to Bibury on some single track roads but unfortunately we seemed to be 5 mins too late as just ahead of us were two coach loads of Asian tourists who swarmed up the little road and took over the area. We only drove through Burton on the Water to our lunch spot in Burford. Burton on the Water was a busy place with lots of people picnic'ing along the banks of the stream and seemed to have countless eateries. Although Burford was quite a nice place, Burton would have been a much better place to spend the lunch break. The included pub lunch was apparently at a new hotel and was a cheap & nasty grilled chicken dish with a softdrink. Viator indicated it was a two course lunch but there was only one and it was very forgettable. The driver & guide headed into the main street of Burford for lunch and had something far nicer! We would recommend less time in Burford and at Blenheim Palace and make Burton on the Water the lunch stop and allow time for people to do their own thing. This would make the day much more memorable. Blenhein Palace was quite nice but far too much time was allowed here. We ended up sitting under a tree watching a local cricket match for a while to fill in time. Overall it was a nice way to see part of the Cotswold area but we think the comments made above would suit most people and make it more special.

Well what a wonderful relaxing day we had. I booked this trip through Viator, clear meeting instructions, driver Tony was the best ever! Very patient and quite witty. We went to two small towns had a wonderful time. Tony made everyone feel welcome the bus was new and clean, great air conditioning that worked and he constantly asked if everyone was comfortable throughout the day.Excellent lunch at a pub, yes he did ring and pre order the food was lovely and fresh , the pub was clean, with clean amenities. Then onward to Blenhelm palace. Another excellent place. We were dropped at the fron door, we couldn’t ask for anything more. Tony even walked us to the entrance and showed us all where to enter, we left promptly through out the day at all stops. Well I can only say nothing but good things, I have travelled extensively and will recommend this tour to everyone. Well done , this company is very privileged to have such a passionate guide on their team.

I am very, sorely, disappointed. I was expecting a higher standard of service, not of course as if I had had booked a private tour, but above than the tours offered by the big companies such as Evans or Golden Tours. The timing announced on the schedule was respected, but the length of the stops was not very good: Burford would have been worth spending more time, same thing for Stowe on the Wold. However Bibury's attraction was just a small row of very pretty cottages which could have been seen in five minutes top. About Stow on the Wold: we were supposed to have a typical English lunch in the oldest pub in England. We in fact went to the pub opposite the road, refurbished with a modern look (it looked more like an average American restaurant), and the fare offered was either pizza or burgers! The choice of pudding was either creme brulée or ice cream. And even if we had wanted to pay extra, they didn't have typical English puddings, or main course either. Another major disappointement was the roads travelled: mainly large roads. Of course I understand the use of motorways or high roads to reach the Cotswolds from London, but even in the Cotwolds (in fact we learned that we were "nearly" in the Cotswolds). We hardly rode on small picturesque roads (only a very small fraction of the mileage covered, and it was lovely). Also, being in a minibus meant that most of the time we couldn't see the scenery along the road, being too low and the grass or edges too high (I will keep that in mind if I ever book another tour). The roads in between sizes were surrounded by fields and not very interesting. Returning to the topic of the stops: You could expect from such kind of tout higher than average quality, and with such a short time allowed at each place, and the company doing these tours each week, well you would expect that the driver gives us some information about each place, and provides a little map (free in the Tourism Offices), or at least doesn't pretend not to know the location of the Tourism Office. I did find, by accident, two of these offices, one in Burford, one in Stowe on the Wold. But the time allocated didn't allow even a quick visit of the town, just a glimpse. About the lunch again, the driver had phoned ahead to order our main course (pizza/burger), which was a good idea and that course was served very quickly. I was quite pleased about that, having considered to skip the lunch in order to visit the town. However the pudding arrived more than one hour and a half later! For creme brulée and ice cream!! I had left long before it arrived, tired of waiting and of wasting precious time and gone explore the town. But I couldn't enjoy the visit, being afraid to miss the bus and came back several times to check the progression. Regarding the driver, Tony, he was a very chatty chap, having opinions about everything and everyone, from the price of Black cabs vs Uber, to the migrants, to the crowd at Ascott, to the present Duke of Marlborough, giving us some little "historical" facts in between. He was quite jolly on the way in. On the way back, he quite toned down. That might be due to the fact that I told him clearly that I was furious about the tickets for Blenheim Palace. I explain; on our way to the palace he informed us that, for a small fee, we would be able to upgrade our tickets to gift aid tickets, which would enable us to come and visit for a year, free of charge. That sounded very good. However, when I went to the desk to have my ticket upgraded I learnt that this was not possible, my ticket being a group ticket, bla bla bla bla. I managed to get hold of his phone number and I must say that he came to my rescue very quickly. Unfortunately that didn't change the position of the ticket office staff. And he kindly dropped us close to the tube stations or areas most convenient to each of us. I somewhat regret having booked this tour with this compagny and feel shortchanged. The tour didn't meet the expectations we were lead to have. I bet that the same tour with Golden Tour (with packed lunch, no waste of time) would have been less disappointing, because they don't bleat that they do a handmade tour. And it would have costed me half the price! I could carry on like that longer, but I want to try and concentrate only on the good moments of the tour : five of ten miles of very scenic road, the Morris dancers, the magnificence of Blenheim Palace. And the beautiful weather for the whole day.
