Visit: The British Museum, Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3DG England

Trade in paintings for mummies and historical artifacts on a tour of the British Museum. The enormous collection spans 6000 years of human history, featuring items from all over the world like Samurai armor and rare Assyrian lion hunt reliefs. Your guide will take a serious but enjoyable approach towards the museum’s galleries, discussing primitive tribes and fallen empires through a carefully chosen selection of items.

You’ll learn about the Mummy of Katebet, the Lewis Chessmen, and the Rosetta Stone – the actual rock, not the language learning program. Walk away with an understanding of what we humans have achieved during our short history and hopefully you’ll be proud to call yourself a part of this incredible species.

There's so much to see & learn in the British museum that a tour is the best way to make the most out of your time i.e., focus on the best bits. Our tour guide, Luis, was great. Easy to listen to & understand. On my next visit to London, I'll book Luis again for the Natural History Musem.

Beckie was waiting for us when we arrived. She was very friendly and pleasant. The content of the tour was very interesting and well chosen and Beckie was clearly very knowledgeable but able to convey the information in a very interesting and relatable way. An excellent tour, would highly recommend.

First quote from our tour guide Anthony “nothing in here is British” as went way back time. Our tour was perfect for our group of five conducting a power tourism weekend in London. We got to learn much of history and legend. There is so much to see, and our guide kept us moving and learning the whole time, which spanned near three hours. Highly recommended for your first experience at British Museum.

The tour guide had excellent knowledge of the museum and the pieces. Whilst it was helpful to have the guide, it was interesting what she chose to show us and why. Much of it was her personal interest vs. important pieces for the museum. We went back after the tour was over to find the pieces that were essential to the museum and of interest to a larger audience (i.e. Akan Drum, Haida House Pole in the great court, Sophilos Vase, etc.)

My daughter and I enjoyed this tour. It is easy to find the meeting location and our guide Becky is very professional, knowledgeable, patient, and fun. It also helped my daughter review/connect what she learned from the world history class.

Our tour with Becky at the British Museum was truly enjoyable. Booking a tour like this with an expert guide is essential when you are trying to make the most of a brief visit. As someone who had visited the museum before, I found the entire experience great as well as my teen son was fully engaged the entire time and even said, 'I wish we had more time.' That says a lot! Book the tour, you won't regret it.

On Jan 3rd, our guide - Becky - was able in the space of two and a half hours to do the almost impossible: give a meaningful and interesting introduction to this vast museum. Of course it is impossible to cover everything in a short visit, but after the tour I felt as if I knew the museum a lot better for a future visit on my own. As a history graduate, Becky was very knowledgeable, but just as importantly she had the ability to share information in a thought-provoking way that I could understand. Thanks Becky!

Sacha was a very kid friendly and super knowledgeable guide. I highly recommend this tour as an intro to the museum or efficient visit to experience some of its most interesting stories and pieces.
