Stop At: Leeds Castle Penfold Hill Leeds, Maidstone ME17 1PL England

Located in Kent, ‘The Garden of England’, lies Leeds Castle, a beautiful medieval castle frequently referred to as ‘the loveliest castle in the world’. With 500 acres of landscaped parkland to explore and impeccably maintained gardens to enjoy, it’s easy to see why this beautiful castle was a favoured castle of King Henry VIII, who gifted it to his first wife, Catherine of Aragon.

In its 900-year history, the castle has been home to no fewer than six queens and served many functions, including acting as a garrison, prison and the stately private home of its most recent owners. Learn all about this and more as our expert tour guide brings its fascinating story to life.

Stop At: Canterbury Cathedral, 11 The Precincts, Canterbury CT1 2EH England

A designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, Canterbury Cathedral is both a serene place of holiness and beautiful tourist destination. As the Cathedral of the Archbishop, the spiritual leader of the Church of England, Canterbury holds a special place in British history. No ordinary Cathedral, Canterbury has a long history that is often described as ‘England in Stone’; from the role of its Archbishops in the Magna Carta to the murder of Thomas Becket after a power struggle with the King of England, Canterbury’s history is intertwined with that of England. Founded by St Augustine in 600 AD, the Cathedral today is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England, and the first building in the country to be redesigned in this popular style in 1774.

Duration: 45 minutes

Pass By: Dover Castle, Castle Hill, Dover CT16 1HU England

Dover Castle is a medieval castle in Dover, Kent, England. It was founded in the 11th century and has been described as the "Key to England" due to its defensive significance throughout history. It is the largest castle in England.

Stop At: The White Cliffs of Dover, Upper Road Langdon Cliffs, Dover CT16 1HJ England

Soaring 350ft above the crashing waves of the English Channel, the White Cliffs of Dover are an instantly recognisable landmark of Britain. From Caesar to Shakespeare, some of history’s most important figures recognised the towering symbolism of the cliffs. Traditionally the site where British royalty would welcome overseas visitors, the cliffs served as an intimidating reminder of Britain's immovable resoluteness sense of independence.

Godfrey was a great guide. Such a fun, informative tour. Leeds Castle was beautiful and Canterbury was such a cute, quaint city with an amazing cathedral. Everything was planned well and efficient. Highly recommended.

I went alone on this coach trip to see Leeds Castle, Canterbury Cathedral and cliffs of Dover. The coach was new but at 6foot 3 I couldn’t fit my legs into the coach seat. Lucky I had two seats to myself so sat sideways. Our guides knowledge and humor was excellent and she stayed with us, except when we toured the castle, but you got given a free guide book to read as you move throughout it. You get 1.5 hrs to tour the castle and grounds so the guide book was enough. I would have liked another hour but you can’t fit it into the day. We moved on to the Canterbury Cathedral and got a top notch guided history tour in an impressive cathedral. We then had 45 mins for a lunch in the town at your leisure. We moved on to the Cliffs of Dover. The poor view of the cliffs are not the guides fault but they shouldn’t bother to go there. They probably want to make the tour look bulkier but it’s a waste of 45 mins. We were then driven the 2 hrs back to London. Overall it was a relaxing, interesting and professionally conducted day. Obviously if they have to drive 5 hours in total to get to places then you only have so much time to do so many, so don’t expect masses of time at each place.

Rowan was an amazing tour guide.! Very knowledgeable & a very outgoing, bubbly personality. We loved this tour although we would have loved a little more time at Canterbury. We could have easily spent hours & hours there just walking around. Great shops. The tour itself had a reasonable amount of walking but nothing overwhelming.

Sheila and Evans Evans tours were fantastic! I loved her humor and she was exceptionally knowledgeable, but didn’t come off like she was lecturing us, interspersing funny bits of history and trivia into the facts. Would have loved a bit more time to wander Dover or a little more explanation in the tour description that you don’t spend but 15 min on a pebble beach looking at the cliffs far in distance. Canterbury was great and Leeds beautiful. Thought we spent too long at Leeds and could have added that time to Dover. Overall great experience.

What an awesome full day! Rowan did a phenomenal job in directing the tour with interesting and entertaining commentaries. Lee our driver got us through some very tight spots and navigated around a number of road closures without compromising our time to visit each site! We would highly recommend this tour!
