The London bus service is really great. We have been staying with family & have used Twickenham & Teddington buses so much. They are frequent & take you to a lot of places. We used the bus to Kew & to Richmond.

We purchased a London Pass. With the app it is extremely convenient, let’s you skip lines, if the museum is free, you may get a guide book for free. But.. the customer service was the highlight. They were amazing. I got sick after using our pass the first day. I couldn’t go anywhere for a few days. They worked with me so I didn’t lose my days using the pass. I will work with this company in any city I visit!

Awesome way to see everything and affordability is fantastic! Nick went above and beyond to negotiate the obstacles presented by The Queen’s funeral- crowds, route closures and no changing of the guard but he got us to the changing of the horse guard and really did all he could in truly unprecedented circumstances. Nick’s Jack The Ripper tour was a great way to end our hop on/off day. I loved that he humanised the victims and my son absolutely found it fascinating.

I purchased 5 London passes, but due to the Queen0s death could not use them. I have written to GoCity and London Pass 6 times (!!!) in line with their cancellation policy, but nobody answers my emailes or my calls. I will certainly never buy such a pass in the future

Would not recommend London Pass after our recent trip to the UK. For example, if you want to experience the View from the Shard please be advised that your London Pass will not be accepted on site for many of the time slots even though there is public availability on the View from the Shard's website. Our party of four checked the View from the Shard's website for available times and, noting that there were several time slots available that evening, were turned away when we arrived at the Shard because "all of the London Pass slots were already used for that day." In other words we could have paid full price on site that evening to see the view because there were many times available for walk-ups, but they would not accept the London Pass for those available times. We returned to the attraction the next day at 4:30 PM (the latest time available to us London Passers - even though there were once again numerous later times available later that day/evening for non London-Passers). And please note that the process for securing tickets to this attraction is onerous (register with the Shard, enter experience #, enter each London Pass ID #, separated by commas, etc).

We bought 3 London Passes as a family after reviewing a couple of sites, where the offer seemed a great deal. So far so good. But our first day was nearly a disaster. For most attractions you cannot make reservations. You have to hope, that there are slots available or you have to wait – sometimes quite long… At least two of our preplanned attractions were taken off the London Pass over a year ago, even though they still promote them on their website., i.e. IMAX Cinema in the Science Museum and special exhibitions in the Albert and Victoria Museum. We felt stupid asking twice for the usage of the LP and being told they stopped cooperating since more than a year. By the way, both museums are generally free of charge, as most official British museums are. I complained to the London Pass company, but got no explicit answer, jut a 10% discount offer… Our other experiences were ok, but we realized, that it is very important to totally preplan the usage of the London Pass or it’s really hard to make a good deal. That takes away some of the spontaneity.

I thought I’d left a review back in 2016, but apparently had not. Here is our experience at that time: Cost: £246.55 for (2) 10 day passes + we added the £50 oyster cards for total of £346.55 Attractions seen that were included on London Pass came to £571.30. So, with careful planning, we came out well ahead of the "2 for 1" available thru National Rail. We typically saw three attractions a day, so we didn't really rush thru anything. Also note we PLANNED each day to maximize the pass. Do the leg work, map out the sites, and group sites by location. We had an itinerary for each day, and the night before we’d pick which itinerary we wanted to do the following day. I mapped these out myself. If you use the pass’ recommended itinerary you will be jumping all over London.

We haven't been able to book the bike tour advertised with the London Pass and I am frustrated; the tour company keeps telling me no "paying customers" have booked the tour and therefore they will not run it and allow me to use my Pass.

As long as you don't need to rely on their app functioning properly or care that you may not get the tour you think you are signing up for, this is a good deal. I'm not sure what the advantage was in getting an oyster card from them (and thus paying a premium because you pay for shipping) when you can use apple pay or other apps directly from your phone and get the same "perks". I had to top off the card more than once so it was not "good for the duration of your pass" which was three days worth. I'd love to tell you what they have to say about their app crashing if you try to open the map or how it always updates when launched (will tie your phone up if you don't have a strong signal) but the only response I got to my email was to say "someone else spoke with you and I'm glad you got your issue resolved" and I can assure you it was not me. I would have also liked to find out why they have tour operators included who don't actually let you book directly (so you can see what you get) but instead require emailing "someone" who makes sure they have your order number and then they, knowing this company doesn't care one bit, gives you a different tour and loads it up with dozens and dozens of people, many of whom don't speak English or lack the physical ability to keep up on a fast paced walking tour. As a result it becomes a slow paced walking tour full of people who talk over the guide while they translate for their friends/family. For the tours that you could book and get confirmation of immediately, those were good and I didn't have to make a reservation to go to Westminster Abbey so that worked well for me.

We saved over £300 over two days maxing out with these passes as a family of 4. We went in some of the most popular places using them, and used the Hop on Hop off Bus and Uber Clipper for two days as well. Just remember to plan your days well, as except for the Shard you can’t pre-book attractions, which means you could miss out if you just turn up without checking. We just looked on the attractions websites the day before to see what the busy times and availability were. We had no trouble getting in to the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and The London Bridge Experience etc.. to name a few. Just remember, most attractions only stay open until 4.30pm ish, so make sure you start your day early, and plan attractions based on location, as travelling time might cause you not to get around everything you want, to get your money’s worth. So, as long as you are prepared to do your homework in advance, these are well worth it. :-)
