Greater London, United Kingdom

This tour is about getting you way off the beaten track and going where the locals go. Over three hours we visit six very different stops and two markets, one hidden away and one you can't miss. From Venezuelan Arepa's to visiting a hidden away distillery to try a gin & tonic, both found underneath the arches of the London Bridge train station, delicious pasta made right in front of your eyes by the incredible chefs at Flour & Grape, artisanal cheese from Neal's Yard Dairy, oysters from Richard Howard's Oyster bar (8 generations and still carrying the torch of the Howard name) and depending on the day, Iraqi dumplings from Juma or succulent sausage rolls from Ginger Pig, both found right in the centre of Borough Market. We will view into what London's old warehouses and docklands used to look like along the River Thames, when London was at the centre of global commerce and walk down the very trendy Bermondsey area and learn about its fascinating past in the Leather, Wool & Hide trade.

We will start right in front of London's majestic Tower Bridge and we will walk right under it as well and gaze at this incredible engineering feat.

Charles Dicken's got a lot of inspiration from around this area especially south of the river just by Shad Thames and Butlers Wharf. His most notable book being 'Oliver Twist'. When you join us on the tour you'll understand why straight away.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Maltby Street Market, 41 Maltby Street Maltby Street, London SE1 3PA England

A very hidden away market only open on the weekends and tucked away underneath the railway arches of the London Bridge mainline train station. All the locals come here so a real treat to show you somewhere a little bit secret.

Stop At: Borough Market, 8 Southwark Street, London SE1 1TL England

London's oldest 'still running' fruit & vegetable market + a very modern street food scene which is conjoined to the market. Old & new work hand in hand here. The atmosphere here is always electric and you can't not visit London and not experience Borough Market.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Borough/Bermondsey area with our guide Eddie who was friendly and knowledgeable. I thought I knew the area but learnt a lot of new things about this part of London that I was previously unaware of. The food stops were amazing with a great variety along the way. I would highly recommend this tour whether you're from London or a visitor.

What a fantastic tour Eddie provided for a school trip with 20 high school students. The tour was very informative and Eddie engaged with all the students who all said they had the best day! The food we sampled was delicious and there was plenty of it. We as a school will definitely be returning next year and some of the staff members are looking to book for an activity to do with their friends. Can not recommend highly enough

I cannot recommend Eddie’s food tour of south London highly enough! I booked it for my sisters hen do outing for 17 women and Eddie more than delivered. Not only was the food delicious but the history stops on the tour were fun and informative plus we got great group photos from Eddie at key stops! It was incredibly good value and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun day out in one of London’s best areas!

Loved the tour! We saw parts of London we might not have ventured to while learning the history of the neighborhoods and trying some delicious bites! Alexis was super personable and it felt like getting a tour from a friend showing us some hidden gems. Maltby and Borough markets demand return visits!

We went on a foodie tour with Eddie for a hen do. He was a fantastic host; energetic, engaging, informed and cultured. Took us to some treasure troves I’ve never seen despite living in london for almost 15 years. A great mix of history, culture and the latest ‘cool’ spots. Would highly recommend.

Eddie! He was fantastic and knew his history so well. Really made the tour so enjoyable. We booked the tour for my daughter's hen do whilst in London at the weekend. The food stops were incredible and everything served was so yummy. Really good value for money. Lots to see on this tour - get booking you won't be disappointed!

This is the second time we have brought our Food and Nutrition GCSE students up to London for one of Eddie's wonderful food tours. The students get a fantastic opportunity to explore some of London's most interesting 'Foodie' locations whilst sampling some delicious foods. They had a fabulous day - thanks Eddie and team

We had a wonderful time on our tour and Fiona was an exceptional tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly! We discovered so many new places and tried lots and lots of traditional food from Venezuela, Italy, Iraq, etc. Our 3 hour walk felt like a trip around the world with an old friend! We highly recommend making some time for this tour on your next trip to London - or even as a local!
