Guided tours through the Johannapark Leipzig have been offered since autumn 2018. The trees in the park serve as a visible point of contact. Given its large variety of trees, its popularity and its location in the city center, it is very suitable for the project.
On a round (approx. 90 min.) Around 15-20 trees and their countries of origin are explored. We present Leipzig's connections to the federal states, such as town twinning, cultural projects or other cultural similarities. Of course, the history of the park must not be missing.
The trees include the Italian poplar, the Dutch linden or the French maple.
The "Growing Cultures" project is non-profit and aims to promote international understanding, education and nature conservation.
Public tours are free of charge. The dates are on our website. We charge a fee for private tours, company and group excursions in order to fund the project permanently.
