My wife and I had a wonderful day at Chartwell with John. If you are an admirer of Churchill or history in general, this is one of those experiences that brings history to life. Experiencing the country house of one of the greatest figures of the 20th century is an opportunity not to be missed. The train from London is an easy ride and the car ride with John is a great opportunity to see the Kent countryside. Many of the tours offered in London are with large groups, so it was nice having a personal guide to show us around the place that the Churchills called home. We hope to go on one of John's other tours next time we are in England.

With our eleven day visit to London, our day trip to Chartwell and Haver Castle were the highlight. Having visited London several times we were looking for a new experience and we got this with John’s tour. He was very personable and informative. We originally had only planned on Chartwell but when he suggested a nearby Haver, we went for it and glad we did. The Ann Boleyn history as well as the history of the castle were fabulous. Thanks, John

We were in London and took the train from Victoria Station as John suggested. Everything went according to plan, and we met John less than a 3-minute walk from exiting the Bromley South train station. The whole experience could not have gone more smoothly. The experience certainly met or exceeded our expectations in every way. John had grown up in the area and for sure knows his way around there. He also is an expert on Churchill and the Churchill family. His strategy to be the first at Chartwell when it opened was excellent as well. We beat the crowds and we were one of the first to walk through the home that morning. That plan also allowed us to visit some of the gardens before entering the home and then other parts of the gardens after we exited the home. We felt like John was an old friend by the time we returned to the Bromley station. He told us all about his family there as well. Our time with John at Chartwell was a highlight of our entire visit to the UK!

Our tour of Chartwell was one of the best tours I’ve ever taken! Our guide, John, picked us up from the South Bromley station and drove us to the house with wonderful enlightening commentary the whole way, then obtained our tickets for us (first come, first served) while we enjoyed a delicious snack in the cafe. The house is just as the Churchills left it, with most of his own paintings displayed. If you’re looking for the real Churchill, Chartwell is the place to see and John the guide to ask for!

We had the pleasure to tour Chartwell House with John. From our initial contact via email and text weeks before the tour, I knew we had selected a guide that was at the top of his game. His attention to detail is unmatched. My wife and I were both fascinated with Chartwell House and John’s knowledge brings Churchill’s home to life. He is friendly, a wonderful conversationalist and comfortable to be around (he checks all the boxes). We both look forward to joining John on future tours when we have more time to spend in England.

As a lover of art I was very excited to see Churchill's studio at Chartwell. The property itself is a true inspiration. The tour John provided was top notch. Clear and precise directions getting to Bromwell came well in advance of our tour date. John contacted me shortly after signing up for the tour and thus I was able to reach out to him with any questions prior. His car is clean and very comfortable. He conducts the tour at our pace and in my situation knew enough to let me ponder a little longer in the studio. He is a thoughtful and knowledgeable guide the I can not recommend him enough.

My 15 year old son is a big World War II historian, and while in London insisted on touring Charwell House. Our tour guide John made the day very special for my son as John added some additional sites and information as they related to the local area and World War II. We did go in winter but still a must see.

Excellent tour. We could not have asked for a more knowledgeable and friendly trip with John. Very easy to take the train to South Bromley and take two lefts to meet him. Our private Chartwell tour with John was one of the high points of our trip to England.

This was a great tour. We were staying in London and took the train from London Victoria station to Bromley South station as John suggested. It's only about a 20-minute train ride. John met us at the Bromley South station and drove us from there to Chartwell. John was on time, knowledgeable, friendly, and an all around good tour guide. His directions were easy to follow, and he made sure we had a great experience at Chartwell itself. We can't recommend this tour highly enough.

My daughter and I had a simply phenomenal day with John. We visited Chartwell and Hever—-both of which were magnificent. His knowledge is simply tremendous and by the end of the tour, you feel like a part of his family. Don’t miss an incredible opportunity to tour with John!! We can’t wait to tour with him again next year
