Fascinating to learn the history of this part of London. Very engaging guide! The content may not have been appropriate for my 11 year old.

George was an incredible guide very personable and interactive. So informative without being boring. Teen enjoyed hearing the gory details and it was a great way to see the less touristy areas of London. Highly recommend!

George is a great guide, our tour lasted for about one hour and a half and we walk about 2-3km with 10-15 minutes stops at the murder scenes. The story telling was amazing, very interactive, if you didn’t understand something, feel free to ask, George will gladly repeat and even give more fun facts if asked. After the tour feel free to ask for pubs and directions as George is a local and he know the best locations around London.

George was a fantastic guide. Welcoming, entertaining, knew many details, and open to extra questions. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour, and having a guide through a part of London I hadn’t fully explored before. My teenagers said it was one of their top 3 experiences from our visit to London. Wear comfortable footwear - lots of walking. Goes into grisly detail (which my teens highly appreciated) and explained many London specific terms and historic background. Great experience.

We had a great time on this tour. The guide (George) was very knowledgeable, entertaining, and professional. It was a great mix of history, walking, and creepy discussion about Jack the Ripper. Now I think I know who did it! We went in early August, so it was light out for the entire tour. It’s probably even more creepy in the dusk/dark.

Our tour guide George did a great job of making history come to life. Even in this modern scene he had us feeling what it may have been life to be alive 134 years ago

I booked the tour relatively late just the day before. When I arrived at Aldgate at 5.45, George quickly made himself known and we chatted as we waited for the rest of our tour which were numbered just 7 on this Wednesday evening. At 6:02 we set off and George was able to take a call from the two late-comers who joined us at our very first stop, without spoiling the tour for those of us who had arrived on time. The tour was hugely entertaining and interesting and we all learned a lot as we toured the various sites – quite a feat when you realise just how much has changed in East London since 1888. We were able to consider all the various ‘suspects’ for the serial killings and George was able to handle all our questions as well as being the most entertaining company. Around the Brick Lane area we encountered a number of other Ripper tours, all with many more attendees than ours so ours was truly very special, nobody was left out and every one of us was included in the questions and discussions by George. Once we’d completed the tour, George was at pains to ensure all our questions were answered and any onward directions given before he set off for his ghost tour around Tower Bridge (I quite wished I’d gone on with him!). Our tour didn’t quite last 1 ¾ hours (which was probably due to the very small number of us in the group) but we saw, learned and experienced everything possible and I will look to do another Meet the Street tour when I come to London again.
